  hi friends,.

  it's been awhile since i've been talkative.

  thought i'd give you an account of my latest family dysfunction.. a brief backstory is that i am an only child whose parents were born in jw's.

  3rdgen I read this and I am speechless. From your posting, and your offer to talk on the phone, which we did, I know you are an outstanding person! I cry for you for the pure insanity of it all. How these mothers act one way with the child they decide to pick on, and how they act in public to others, really can mess with one's head.

  Let your husband love you and hold you and know that all of us, your 'other family' here on JWN think the world of you. You are a beloved member that has shared so much tragedy with us. Please, let this new year of 2017 be a very peaceful and happy one for you.

  Big hugs of love, sympathy and caring for you. You deserve to have a wonderful and beautiful life. Your mother is now gone. You are a good person that deserved to have the best mother. I am sorry it was not that way...

  The Metropolitan Museum Oasis Bible Tours in NYC

  i just came home from a day in nyc and was taken to the met for the the woman and her offspring tour i went to keep peace and just enjoy my family.

  i've been to the metrpolitan museum of art on many occasions and have enjoyed spending time wandering thru the exhibits appreciating the art and history.

  since all family members wanted to do the tour by the wts entitled a woman and her offspring, i thought i could just follow along and just enjoy the art and exhibits.. in all honesty, i'm still amazed at this whole tour.

  To the OP that everything is 90% pagan...

  I overheard a very zealous older sister say just this past summer, that in Paradise... there will be no books... because they were (apparently???) all written by unbelievers.

  I feel so sorry for her.

  Beachlover... I know you were in a tight position, you did really well not losing it on this big jerk.

  Long story, short.

  When the man I loved, married someone else...

  I was devastated and didn't really care what course my life took, but I knew I couldn't take it seeing them at assemblys etc, so I ended up moving away, marrying someone I barely knew who was a psychopath. The first time he hit me, we wern't even married a month. He made me believe I was the one that was crazy. I believed him. I lived with a plastic smile permanently etched to my face, praying fervently for armageddon... and paradise, just around the corner.

  Going through a divorce and reading CofC, totally changed my life for... the better! Next, having a small trust fund, and using it as a down payment on a house, that I just moved into recently, has finally given me my balance back, along with a real smile. I love where I live. My shangra la. It has taken me many years to get here. I would like a superman in my life... Who knows? Just keep living. There are actually many pleasant surprises out there... But you have to be alive to embrace them.

  i was trying to call him for over a week with no response.

  last sunday night i had a dream about him.

  So sorry for your loss new boy.

  The law of averages... A few weeks ago, out of no where, I dreamt that an old acquaintance had died and I was at the funeral home comforting her 2 sons and grandchildren. There is a poster here who knows her and goes to the same Hall. He assured me in a private message recently, that she is alive and well.

  I don't doubt your OP at all. I have heard of similar stories as yours, happening, as in close friends, loved ones, being visited after death to say good bye.

  I know I am not "dumb" (I was a born in and only woke up 4 1/2 years ago. Is that an excuse???) but I have never even thought of any of these great questions and statements.

  I have known some very rich people. They didn't get rich letting any money go slip sliding away.

  Some could actually be known as greedy.

  WT is greedy. Taking children's ice cream money? How low can you go?

  Who says these tools for sale... up to 80% off, are all of them? Maybe they sold the best ones for the best price and these left over ones... are worn out, really used junk that are now offered to the lowly publisher's for sale. Up to 80% off is a red herring to get people hooked in to look.

  When did JW..org do anything for the true benefit of Christian Charity? LOL

  Excellent. Short and to the point. But... the beautiful music, to my ears, seemed a bit loud while Geoffrey Jackson was speaking. I know what he says because I watched the whole 'show' a year ago last Aug. but for new viewers, my suggestion is to cut the music while he is speaking.

  Thank you for doing a great job and getting it out there.

  Hopefully it will do it's job of waking some good folk up before they spend another minute in this man made up, world wide real estate redevelopment religion... so these naive and innocent people can get on with their own lives leaving JW..org behind.

  I don't like the person i am becoming...

  i have not been active here lately just lurking mostly but i have no one to talk to and i need some help i guess.i started working out and became friends with my personal trainer(we went to school together).i started going out with him(lying to my mother about what i was doing,another thing to add to the list of lies,it's becoming too easy!

  ) and i notice i'm slowly becoming the worldy people that the jw's described.i've become very selfish and rude and very apathetic towards everything and everyone.i always thought the values that jw's taught were really good.if i cut ties with the only friend i have now , i would probably slip into a deep depression and i that is something that i want to avoid at all costs.i start university in january and my plan was to stick it out in the organisation until i got my degree and became fully independant but as of late a elder told me i am being considered to become a m.s and told me what i need to work on and since then the other elders have been nagging me to work on the same things.i'm trying to rid my self of my 'priveleges' in the cong but nothings working...if anyone has experienced a similar situation what advice would you give?

  , oh and my mom was always super into the religion having been a pioneer and bethel worker for years but we went to the regional convention two weeks ago and now she is even more exasperating (for example a sister asked my why i was 19 years old and not a ms or serving at bethel yet, which is fine i've learnt how to deal with these questions but when i told my mother whom has always been content with me just being in the religion and never pushed me towards anything asked me if i was happy with what i was and if i would not be happier at bethel or regular pioneering.

  If I have read this all correctly, you are a 19 year old baptized brother that has one friend, a former school mate and now your personal trainer. You are living at home and going to Uni in Jan. You feel you have become a lying, rude, selfish and apathethic individual.

  Maybe just self preservation?

  Some on here have said men don't mature until they are about 25. You have got a lot to think about but are headed in the right direction.

  There are always nosy Jdubs. In fact most of them have no personal boundaries. It happens in groups when you are supposed to call strangers, brother and sister.

  You have approximately 10 weeks before school starts. Keep posting and venting and asking questions. Many wish we were 19 years old again with advise from the good hearted people here on JWN/JWD.
